A foodie at heart, I look forward to November 1st, when Nantucket Bay Scallops are available. They’re often referred to as “Sea Candy” because of their sweet and luxurious flavor. While researching them for my painting, I learned that environmental factors are compromising the bay scallop’s ability to thrive and survive in many places. Through this painting, I hope to bring some attention to this sweet beauty, for both its culinary and environmental stories.
